THE PREDICTION

This exciting clash between in-form Bordeaux and Premiership leaders Bristol Bears looks set to rival Munster vs Toulouse for high quality drama this weekend in the Champions Cup. Despite an 11-26 defeat at home to title-chasing La Rochelle last Saturday, Bordeaux have been particularly strong at home this season, losing just twice here since September. They will go toe-to-toe with travelling Bristol on Sunday but the Bears are on a seven-match unbeaten streak and have beaten a series of Premiership chasers in recent weeks, including a tight 35-33 victory over Harlequins last Saturday to go twelve points clear at the top of the Premiership. They can enjoy knockout rugby this weekend with confidence that their domestic form is starting to look unreachable and the current Challenge Cup champions can just edge this clash on the road.
