THE TEAM NEWS

MUNSTER

  • Munster maintained their record of having only lost one game so far this season as they defeated Ospreys in a comfortable manner to sit second in Pool 4 on five points by just one point differential.
  • Alby Mathewson will depart Munster after this game and the 33-year-old will be hoping to make a farewell appearance in front of his own fans from the replacements bench.

Line-ups: Mike Haley, Andrew Conway, Chris Farrell, Rory Scannell, Keith Earls, JJ Hanrahan, Conor Murray, Jeremy Loughman, Niall Scannell, John Ryan, Jean Kleyn, Tadhg Beirne, Peter O’Mahony (capt), Jack O’Donoghue, CJ Stander.

Replacements: Kevin O’Byrne, James Cronin, Stephen Archer, Billy Holland, Fineen Wycherley, Alby Mathewson, Dan Goggin, Arno Botha.

RACING 92

  • Racing 92 produced one of the shocks of the opening round of the Champions Cup as they hammered reigning champions Saracens to go top of Pool 4 on points difference alone.
  • Finn Russell was the star of the show last week and he will be tasked with backing that performance up for the French outfit in what will be a decisive match at the culmination of the groups.

Line-ups: Eddy Ben Arous, Camille Chat, Cedate Gomes Sa, Donnacha Ryan, Dominic Bird, Wenceslas Lauret, Antonie Claassen, Boris Palu, Maxime Machenaud, Finn Russell, Henry Chavancy (capt), Virimi Vakatawa, Juan Imhoff, Teddy Thomas, Simon Zebo.

Replacements: Teddy Baubigny, Hassane Kolingar, Ali Oz, Fabien Sanconnie, Yoan Tanga Mangene, Teddy Iribaren, Ben Volavola, Brice Dulin.

THE PREDICTION

Racing 92 were superb in their victory over Saracens last week and that win should give them a huge boost in a difficult Pool 4. They face another tough challenge here as they head to Munster and although they can keep the scoreline close, the home side should just have the edge to go clear in the standings at this early stage.
