  • Wests Tigers were once again unable to produce an 80-minute performance as they went down to Penrith Panthers last week but they did at least show some decent glimpses of what they can do on both sides of the ball.
  • Wests were able to frustrate the Panthers early on but could not maintain it as their bad habits crept in with a poor spell to begin the second half ultimately taking the game away from them before a late rally brought the scoreline closer.

Starting 13: Meaney, Allan, Hopoate, Schoupp, Okunbor, Wakeham, Flanagan, Seumanufagai, S. Katoa, Hetherington, Waddell, Stimson, Jackson – Interchanges: Biondi-Odo, Ogden, Patolo, Topine – Reserves: Manu, Napa, Averillo, Heleta

  • Canterbury Bulldogs will bring a miserable season to a close in a game they will feel that they are capable of winning but with just two successes to their name all year, it will still be a tough ask.
  • The Bulldogs lost for the tenth game in succession last week as Manly Sea Eagles proved to be too good for them, although they kept the score tighter than many imagined and they have something to build on in their final game of the season as a result of that effort.

Two teams that have underwhelmed in 2021 do battle here to draw a close to the regular season as Wests Tigers take on Canterbury Bulldogs. The latter have won just two games this year and have consequently claimed the wooden spoon. Wests on the other hand have managed eight successes but they never truly looked capable of making the top eight in what has turned into another poor season with question marks surrounding their roster and coaching staff. Both teams will be eager to end on a high and that could result in an opening game for Sunday arvo footy so expect at least 48 points in this contest.
