  • Brisbane Broncos will be feeling the pressure at the foot of the NRL ladder after Canterbury Bulldogs claimed a vital win last week to draw to within just two points in the race to avoid the wooden spoon.
  • That came on the back of the Broncos losing once again as they were well-beaten by Canberra Raiders which made it three straight losses and Kevin Walters will need to see a much-improved performance if his side are to avoid yet another defeat.

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs made it back-to-back wins as they overcame a tough examination against Newcastle Knights last week and they will be confident of making it three straight wins in this contest with struggling Brisbane Broncos.
  • The Rabbits have failed to hit the heights of their early season form but against a porous Brisbane defence, they will be looking to get back to their free-flowing best with the ball as they look to capitalise against a side that are conceding over 31 points per game this season.

A second successive wooden spoon could be on the cards for Brisbane Broncos unless they improve drastically in the second half of the season. They have managed just three wins from 14 games so far and come into this clash with South Sydney Rabbitohs on the back of three consecutive losses. The Rabbits on the other hand have won back-to-back matches after they saw off Newcastle Knights last week. The Broncos have conceded 436 points so far this season which is the most in the NRL and with Souths boasting plenty of attacking talent, it would be a surprise if the away side failed to win by at least 14 points.
