  • South Sydney produced a late comeback against North Queensland to make it back-to-back wins and solidify their top 4 spot with a home game against St. George presenting a great chance to make it three wins in a row.

  • The Rabbitohs have a handful of players pushing for returns from injury over the next couple of games with Tom Burgess one of those and he has been included amongst the reserves.

  • Sam Burgess is also a surprise inclusion in the 21-man squad as he battles an infection following shoulder surgery but it seems unlikely that he will make the matchday 17 at this stage.

Head Coach: Paul McGregor

Starting 13: Norman, Saab, Aitken, Lafai, Lomax, Widdop, Hunt, Lawrie, McInnes, Vaughan, Frizell, T. Sims, Graham – Interchanges: Kerr, K. Sims, Dufty, Leilua – Reserves: Robson, Host, Kaufusi, Ravalawa

Unavailable: Jack de Belin, Lachlan Maranta, Jeremy Latimore

  • St. George's miserable run continued as they were hammered by Penrith to take their record to just two wins from their last 11 with their play-off hopes now hanging by the thinnest of threads.

  • Ben Hunt was rested last week but the halfback will come back into the Dragons side here as they look to get back to winning ways and they are given a further boost with the return of skipper Gareth Widdop.

  • His comeback at five-eighth will see Corey Norman shift to fullback and Matt Dufty drop to the bench whilst Zac Lomax is back from a broken thumb and will be joined by debutante Jason Saab on the wing with Jonas Pearson and Mikaele Ravalawa both dropped.

South Sydney showed some good character to beat North Queensland late on last week and will be confident of another win against a struggling St. George. The visitors have been terrible for a long period now and it is difficult to see where their next win comes from despite the return of a key man. Gareth Widdop is back after missing most of the season with a dislocated shoulder and he will need to have an immediate impact on his side if they are to get back to winning ways but it is difficult to see them having enough in this game with Souths likely too strong.
