Canada will be one of the three co-hosts at next summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup, but it does seem as though they will not be joined by their upcoming opponents, Romania.

Romania vs Canada prediction
Romania come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat of a poor Cyprus side in mid-June, which came a few days after a 2-1 loss to Austria, perhaps the strongest side in Group H of UEFA qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. That was their second loss of the campaign after a surprise defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina in March.
They face a Canadian side that, coached by former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch, performed well at the CONMEBOL Copa America last summer, but they most recently suffered a surprise CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final exit, as a result of losing to Guatemala on penalties in the United States.
Canada need a response in this international break but they are dealing with injury issues and siding with the Romanians, in Bucharest, would appear the good value bet.
