Liverpool were held to a draw in the Merseyside Derby last weekend, but that result does come with the caveat that it was a much-changed line up due to the club’s Champions League exploits. This Saturday though they will look to return to winning ways was when they play host to Bournemouth.
With a 10-point gap over Chelsea in fifth place, Liverpool are now odds on to return to the Champions League next season, but the job is not quite done yet with three more wins required at this stage to make mathematically sure of a top four finish.
Visitors Bournemouth have been the late goal specialists in recent times, and it is that never say die attitude that has played a large part in what looks like securing them their Premier League status for a fourth straight season.
However, they may come unstuck at Anfield especially if Egyptian international Mohamed Salah is back to full fitness. The forward has scored 29 league goals this season and will be looking to add to that tally. Should he do so then it will put Liverpool well on the way to an expected victory.
