Brighton may well start this game seven points clear of the relegation zone, but when you look at their end-of-season run-in you get the feeling that they will need every one of those points to make sure they stay out of the bottom three.
Starting tonight they will face five of the top seven teams in the Premier League between now and the final day of the campaign. It’s a desperately difficult set of fixtures and first up is the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham.
It was a rare off day for them last Saturday as they were soundly beaten by the now champions Manchester City, a loss that sees their unbeaten league streak end at 14 matches. That will be of some disappointment, but the key now is that they bounce back in the best possible way.
It is fair to say that Brighton save their best football for in front of their own fans and they have already claimed the scalp of Arsenal here this season. That said, Tottenham will provide something of a sterner test, one that that the Seagulls will fail to pass as the visitors take all three points on the South Coast.
