LERONE MURPHY VS DOUGLAS SILVA DE ANDRADE LOWDOWN
Third UFC fight and third appearance on Fight Island for Lerone Murphy (9-0-1). He arrived to the UFC protecting his perfect 8-0 record and flew to Fight Island for a tough debut on short notice. He took on crowd favourite and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s training partner Zubaira Tuhugov and fought to a valiant draw. He was then given another tough fight in the form of the Brazilian prospect Ricardo Ramos, but the Brit notched the biggest win of his career knocking him out in the first round.
The UFC must think highly of Murphy as they have handed him yet another beast. Douglas Silva de Andrade (26-3(2)) has only fought once in two years which he stepped up to featherweight to earn a unanimous decision over Renan Barao. That made it 2-2 in the UFC, but he fought Rob Font (submission loss), Marlon Vera (decision win) and the current champion Petr Yan (TKO loss) which there is no shame in.
LERONE MURPHY VS DOUGLAS SILVA DE ANDRADE PREDICTION
There is no doubting Silva de Andrade’s talent, but his inactivity is a worry especially as Murphy has fought on Fight Island twice already going through all of the Covid-19 protocols.
Either way this should be an intense stand-up battle and a thrilling scrap. We are backing Murphy to get the job done on the feet. He is an excellent striker and will have the size and power advantage over the Brazilian. Silva de Andrade is also not getting any younger whereas Murphy is only just approaching his prime and we expect him to overwhelm on the feet and even secure a late knockout finish.
Prediction: Murphy via KO/TKO
