Fighting out of Curitiba, Brazil, Joaquim Silva (11-3) will be desperate to get back in the win column this weekend. Currently riding a two-fight losing streak, Silva has not fought since June of 2021. On that night, he was knocked out by Ricky Glenn. The Brazilian will need to put in a top-notch shift if he is to get the job done this weekend.
As for Joaquim’s opponent this weekend, Jesse Ronson (21-11) will be looking to pick up his first win in the UFC. Ronson had a brief spell with the promotion in 2014 but was released after losing three in a row. Since then, he has gone on to impress across the regional scene. Since resigning with the company, Ronson is still yet to taste victory.

Heading into this weekend’s lightweight bout, Ronson will have the edge in both the height and reach department.
Throughout his career so far, Ronson’s takedown defence has been very questionable at times. Despite being a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, we’ve rarely seen Silva use his grappling in the UFC. Instead, he’s almost a pure brawler. Thankfully for Ronson, he will be able to take a lot of damage and still keep going forward. If Ronson can weather the early storm, he will then look to take control of proceedings. However, we suspect that Silva will remain a little bit more calculated and attempt to mix in his grappling in order to run away with the fight.
