Jinh Yu Frey is a former Invicta champion and she makes her UFC debut against Kay Hansen. Frey holds a 9-4 record and despite being stripped of her Invicta title after failing to make weight in her last fight, she picked up a unanimous decision against Ashley Cummins. Six of her nine wins have come via the judges’ scorecards and the 35-year-old is known for her workrate and energy more than her knockout power.

Kay Hansen is another UFC newcomer after three years with Invicta and she is the second youngest fighter on the UFC roster after Chase Hooper. The talented 20-year-old has a 6-3 record but has good submission skills and has won her last two fights with the latest coming back in March against Liana Pirosin.

This is an intriguing match-up in the women’s strawweight division between two newcomers which see 35-year-old Frey face off against Hansen who is 15 years her junior. It is the younger fighter who comes into the fight as favourite and she does look to have more ways to end the fight. That said, Frey is extremely durable and the likelihood is that this goes the distance. Hansen is marginally preferred but this could easily go either way so the play here is on the fight to go to the scorecards.

Winner: Fight to go the distance
