UFC newcomer Gabriel Green makes his debut in the Octagon against Daniel Rodriguez after Kevin Holland was forced out of a fight with Rodriguez when he suffered an injury. The California native is enjoying a six-fight win streak on the regional circuits but he faces a step up in quality here. He had a fight scheduled in January with Bellator but he was forced to miss that due to a shoulder problem so this will be his first fight in almost two years.
Daniel D-Rod Rodriguez makes his second appearance in the UFC after he produced an emphatic performance by dismantling veteran Tim Means back in February when he won via guillotine choke in the second round. Rodriguez came through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019 and is on a seven-fight win streak himself with six of those seven fights ending before the final bell.
Daniel Rodriguez was slated to face Kevin Holland but the change in opponent to Gabriel Green will not phase him. He has won his last seven fights and five of those have come since September 2018 – during which time Green has been inactive. It is difficult to imagine Green stepping up to make his UFC debut without having had any fight in almost two years and that inactivity, along with the fight being made at short notice, will work against him. D-Rod should have far too much for him and it is unlikely this will go the distance.
Winner: Daniel Rodriguez (KO or Submission)
