Carlos Felipe makes his UFC debut in the heavyweight division and the Brazilian striker will be looking to improve his unblemished 8-0 record. All six of his wins via knockout have come in the first round and he will certainly be looking for a quick finish here but his other two wins came via the scorecards so he will not fear being taken into the later rounds. Technically he is not brilliant, but he possesses plenty of power and has a strong punchers’ chance in every second of any fight.

Sergey Spivak comes into this fight having lost two of his last three fights in the UFC against Walt Harris and his latest fight against Marcin Tybura back in February earlier this year. Sandwiched in between those two losses, Spivak beat Tai Tuivasa via submission and with six of his ten wins coming that way, it will be no surprise to see Spivak look to take this fight to the mat as quickly as possible.

An intriguing match-up here as Felipe will be looking to end this fight as early as possible with his powerful haymakers, while Spivak will look to take him down right from the start and try to control him with his wrestling and look for submissions. Felipe has a punchers’ chance and if he connects flush on Spivak, it will be game over. Spivak will look to stay clear of his haymakers and control this fight in the clinch and on the mat. Whether he can do that for the entire 15 minutes remains to be seen but Spivak winning by decision is marginally favoured over Felipe winning by knockout but either scenario is feasible.

Winner: Spivak via decision
