ANDRE EWELL VS IRWIN RIVERA LOWDOWN
Andre Ewell is gunning to string two wins together for the first time in the UFC. He edged a deteriorating Renan Barao on his debut but then got submitted by Nathaniel Wood. He responded with a decision over Anderson dos Santos but tasted the elbows of Marlon Vera and is now coming off a split decision over Jonathan Martinez.
Irwin Rivera is keeping active after stepping up late notice on his UFC debut. He filled in for Mike Davis who was scheduled to take on Giga Chikadze and fought well considering he was fighting up at featherweight as well but ultimately lost a unanimous decision. He is now coming off his first UFC win which was at the APEX back in August winning a split decision over Ali AlQaisi.
ANDRE EWELL VS IRWIN RIVERA PREDICTION
Ewell has struggled for momentum in the UFC but that is mainly because he has come up against studs in the form of Wood and Vera. He has a lot of potential and this should be a great scrap with two southpaws, but Ewell is the favourite.
The majority of this fight should take place on the feet where Ewell has the edge. They both have heavy hands but Ewell’s eight-inch reach advantage should make all the difference getting the better of Rivera in the exchanges and earning the points at least.
Winner: Ewell via Decision
