26-year-old Amir Albazi makes his UFC debut after receiving the call just ten days ago when Aleksander Doskalchuk was forced off the card. The Swedish flyweight fighting out of London brings a 12-1 record into this fight and he will be desperate to get a win in what is easily the biggest fight in his career so far. Seven of his 12 wins have come via submission and Albazi is a solid technican that will pose plenty of threat to fellow newcomer Malcolm Gordon.

Gordon brings a 12-3 record into this fight but he is riding a four-fight win streak as he also makes his debut in the Octagon. Six of his last seven fights have ended in the first round of his bouts and he is rarely involved in an unentertaining matchup. The one question mark is over his chin as he has been knocked out in all three of his losses but he has not lost in almost four years now and he will be confident coming into this.

Any matchups between two newcomers are difficult to predict but this promises to be an entertaining bout. Both Albazi and Gordon’s resumes have very few fights that have gone the distance and this one seems likely to end in a stoppage too. Albazi has never been stopped and offers several ways to win. Gordon is also strong the ground as well as with his striking, but his standup defence is questionable. He has suffered three defeats via KO and Albazi will fancy his chances of adding another even with his short preparation time for this bout.

Winner: Albazi via KO/TKO
