ISL meetings: FC Goa W4, Chennaiyin FC W4
Chennaiyin FC have only won two of their last six ISL outings and it is that form which sees them start this fixture lying fourth in the table. They will look to return to winning ways when they go on the road to face FC Goa. The hosts themselves are not in the best of form as they have failed to win any of their last three league outings, but a win for them would see the gap between the two sides close to just a point. The home side may well have to settle for just a point though.
The last time these two sides met was back in November 2017 and they served up five goals between them. It was the travelling FC Goa that raced into a first half three-goal lead and it looked at that point as if the game was all but over. Chennaiyin FC did offer something of a gallant fightback as Inigo Calderon and Raphael Augusto scored late on for the home side but it was not enough to stop Sergio Lobera’s men from earning all three points.
