THE LOWDOWN

The 2021 edition of the Ballymore will have a very different feel to it with just seven runners declared to run. It could perhaps mean a slightly underwhelming start to day 2 of the Festival but there is still some real talent in the field. Rachael Blackmore will hope to come into this on the back of seeing Honeysuckle claim the major prize on day 1 and that will be a good sign for her mount Bob Olinger. Since moving to Henry de Bromhead, he has managed to win three of his four races he has could be the one to beat here. Gaillard Du Mesnil is another interesting prospect for Willie Mullins and he will hope his entrant can match the feat of Yorkhill in 2016 and Faugheen in 2014 when coming out on top in this race. Bravesmansgame will go in search of a fourth straight victory while Bear Ghylls could work his way into the frame following a three from three start to life over hurdles.

THE PREDICTION

This looks like a captivating contest to get day 2 of the Festival underway with the top three in the market in all having plenty to like about them but preference is just for Bravesmansgame. He completed a hat-trick last time out with a classy win by ten lengths in a Grade 1 at Newbury and he looks to have more improvement in him which should allow him to be the standout horse in the field.
