Who won last year’s William Hill St Leger Stakes? Kew Gardens – Ryan Moore/Aidan O’Brien
- The St Leger Festival has been a high-class meeting as ever this year and the main event is still to come with the William Hill St Leger Stakes in what looks like a superb Group 1 contest with a field of eight set to run.
- Aidan O’Brien has trained the winner of this race in the previous two years with Ryan Moore on board on both occasions and the Ballydoyle trainer will have three chances to claim the hat-trick with Il Paradiso, Sir Dragonet and Western Australia all taking to the track.
- Logician looks to be the stand-out horse in the field having won all four of his races so far and won in Group 2 company on his previous race at York last month but this is as another step up for the John Gosden trained colt.
Logician was a very impressive winner at York during last month’s Ebor Festival and is fancied to handle the step up in trip here. He will run a Group 1 race for the first time in his career but the son of Frankel can relish the extra few furlongs and can continue his unbeaten run with another victory in this prestigious race.
RACE TIP: LOGICIAN TO WIN
