  • With a number of big name players like Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepke and Rory McIlroy giving this tournament a miss, that hands a great opportunity at the Rocket Mortgage Classic to some of those players just outside the elite to make their mark here and Tyrell Hatton is one of those.
  • The Englishman finished tied third at the RBC Heritage two weeks ago and that comes off a victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, two sixth-place finishes and a 14th in his last five events dating prior to the lockdown so his form is excellent right now.

TIP: Top five finish

  • Patrick Reed is enjoying one of his best seasons having managed five top ten finishes in his last 11 events played and he will be targeting this one as a glorious opportunity to get another PGA Tour win under his belt.
  • Despite the missed cut at the RBC Heritage and a slow first round last week at the Travelers, there were some positives signs in the last three rounds that he was finding some form with his putting especially so he has to come into consideration here.

TIP: Top ten finish

  • Simpson has been the star of the show this season so far but was forced to miss the Travelers last week after a family member tested positive for COVID-19, but he returns to action here looking to continue his fabulous form.
  • He has won two events this season, finished once and third once having five top five finishes in his seven events, so with a significantly weakened field missing so many of the big names, he has to be considered to finish top five, if not win the event in Detroit.

TIP: Winner
