TSZ TIPS
MATTHEW WOLFF
- One of the revelations in the last six months on the PGA Tour has been 21-year-old Matthew Wolff and he is coming off a stunning runner-up finish at the US Open on the incredibly challenging Winged Foot course three weeks ago.
- Wolff continues to drive well averaging 334 yards per drive this season and is second in strokes gained: tee to green, so Wolff has to be considered as a great value option to be competing for the trophy on Sunday evening.
TIP: Winner (e/w)
PATRICK CANTLAY
- Patrick Cantlay has played this event three times and he has one victory and two second-place finishes so nobody in the field possesses that kind of track record in this event and he will be super confident of doing well yet again here.
- His form since the resumption of play in June has been reasonable but not quite to the levels of prior to the coronavirus pandemic so Cantlay will be hoping that this event can kick-start his season and see him challenging on Sunday evening.
TIP: Top five finish
HIDEKI MATSUYAMA
- Hideki Matsuyama has played twice in this event finishing T16 last year and T10 back in 2014 and it is a course that he could well enjoy this weekend if he can he tune up his putter for TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.
- While he has not won a PGA Tour event sine 2017, Matsuyama had a second and two third-place finishes last season and he comes into this having finished in a solid 17th place at the US Open after being in contention for three rounds and T15 at the Tour Championship and T3 at the BMW Championship.
TIP: Top five finish
