  • Lecce were defeated in their huge clash with Genoa and that result could prove to be pivotal with the gap between the two teams now standing at four points but they will be rueing a missed penalty that could have altered the outcome of the contest.
  • Genoa took an early lead but Lecce were handed a great chance to level from the spot on the stroke of half-time with Marco Mancosu failing to hit the target, although he did make up for that miss by levelling on the hour.
  • With the game headed for a stalemate, Lecce suffered a damaging blow in their bid to stay in Serie A as Gabriel put through his own net with nine minutes remaining and they come into another huge contest without the services of Jacopo Petriccione who is suspended.

  • Brescia were able to find the back of the net in stoppage time to secure what could be a massive win in their quest to avoid the drop after they edged the win against SPAL at the weekend.
  • SPAL took the lead just before the break and they looked like they would be able to frustrate Leece but Jaromir Zmrhal levelled with just over 20 minutes to play and he proved to be the hero as he struck again in the third minute of stoppage time to seal the three points.
  • That late show will give Brescia plenty of confidence ahead of another must-win game with Lecce but they must do without Nikolas Spalek who is suspended while Simon Skrabb is a doubt because of an ankle issue.

These two teams both had differing outcomes in their important relegation battles at the weekend and this is another huge game for the pair. Lecce were defeated by Genoa as the gap to safety was extended and that also had an impact on Brescia despite their victory over SPAL. Brescia were 3-0 victors when the two teams met earlier in the season and with so much on the line with the pair both needing to win, this is likely to be an open game with plenty of goals.
