Schalke will still have painful memories of their 8-0 drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the opening match of this season, a result that set the tone for the Royal Blues’ miserable campaign so far. Their victory over Hoffenheim two weeks ago - their first in the league in nearly a year - has not proven to be a turning point, with Christian Gross’ side losing their two games since. Bayern are not in the imperious form that they were in back at the start of the season, labouring to narrow wins in their last two games, but the fact remains that the champions are by far the most prolific side in the Bundesliga. Do not expect another 8-0, but Bayern should still win by a handsome margin.
