What was the score when the teams last met? Wehen Wiesbaden 2-0 Erzgebirge Aue

Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Mannel; Kalig, Mihojevic, Gonther, Kusic; Riese, Fandrich; Zulechner, Hochscheidt, Kruger; Nazarov

Unavailable: Breitkreuz (Injured), Kempe (Injured), Cacutalua (Injured), Samson (Injured)

Doubtful: Testroet (Illness)

  • Erzgebirge Aue kicked off their second season under head coach Daniel Meyer with an efficient 2-0 win at Greuther Furth last Sunday, but they were inconsistent on home turf during the previous campaign.
  • Summer signings Soren Gonther and Marko Mihojevic formed a new centre-back partnership against Furth with Steve Breitkreuz and Malcolm Cacutalua both out injured, but otherwise it was a familiar-looking line-up.
  • Louis Samson and Dennis Kempe are expected to be out of action for another few weeks while last season's top scorer Pascal Testroet will be assessed after missing the trip to Furth because of stomach flu.

Predicted line-up (4-4-2): Watkowiak; Kuhn, Mockenhaupt, Dams, Niemeyer; Shipnoski, Gul, Titsch-Rivero, Dittgen; Kyereh, Schaffler

Unavailable: Schonfeld (Injured), Schwadof (Injured), Wachs (Injured)

Doubtful: Mrowca (Injured)

  • After being promoted to Germany's second tier for only the second time in their history, Wehen Wiesbaden's 2019/20 campaign began with a 2-1 defeat at home to fellow promoted side Karlsruher SC last Sunday.
  • The club have made several signings over the summer but left-back Michel Niemeyer was the only one to start against Karlsruher, although Marvin Ajani and Phillip Tietz both made appearances from the bench.
  • Captain Sebastian Mrowca is a doubt after picking up an injury so Marcel Titsch-Rivero could start in midfield, while Patrick Schonfeld, Jules Schwadorf and Marc Wachs all remain absent with injuries.

These two teams had contrasting fortunes on the opening weekend and Erzgebirge Aue will be confident of making it two wins from two games in front of their own fans. Wehen Wiesbaden are favourites for relegation this term and it would be a surprise to see them get anything here.
