Newcastle have resumed play in good spirits and the fact they can play with more freedom as they sit comfortably in a mid-table league position has helped their play. They welcome Man City to St James’ Park in the FA Cup and will know that if they can somehow overcome them, they could go all the way. That will be a tough ask however as City will prioritise the cup competitions after seeing Liverpool seal the title. Guardiola can rotate yet keep a strong line-up and while Newcastle have sprung a couple of surprise results against them in recent seasons, that seems unlikely here. Steve Bruce’s men could get on the scoresheet but City should have too much in the end for them.
