THE LOWDOWN

CHELSEA

  • Fresh from booking their place in the FA Cup final this past weekend, Chelsea get set to do battle against another London rival in Arsenal with the Blues having won their last Premier League fixture 0-6 against Southampton.
  • Thomas Tuchel will likely rotate his starting XI, but the German head coach will be without midfielder Mateo Kovacic after he was forced off through injury on Sunday.

ARSENAL

  • Three straight defeats have proven utterly disastrous for Arsenal’s quest to finish in the top four, most recently failing to take advantage of Tottenham’s loss against Brighton after losing 1-0 away at Southampton.
  • The losses of Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney through injury are clearly a huge factor in the Gunners’ recent collapse of form and both miss out once again here.

ARSENAL

THE PREDICTION

Although Chelsea have had a day less rest than Arsenal, that shouldn’t prove a key factor in this all-London clash when taking into account the strength-in-depth of the Blues’ squad and they are expected to dominate proceedings here, especially with Arsenal significantly weakened through key injuries. As talented as this Arsenal squad is, they are a young bunch of players and this recent losing run is likely to have affected them huge from a mental perspective. Chelsea contains far more experienced campaigners within their side and combined with the form of individual players such as Mason Mount in particular, it’s impossible to look beyond a Chelsea victory in this one.

Tip: CHELSEA TO WIN
