THE PREDICTION
Aston Villa return to action at Villa Park for the first time since Boxing Day as they face a struggling Newcastle. Steve Bruce is coming under increasing pressure as manager of the Magpies with his side winless in their last nine games in all competitions, including defeats in their last three. Against his old club here, Bruce won’t be afforded any sympathy with Villa in good form before the recent Covid-19 outbreak that forced them to shut their Bodymoor Heath training ground after a significant number of players and staff tested positive for Coronavirus. With Chelsea loanee Ross Barkley back to full fitness for the hosts, things don’t look likely improving here for a Newcastle side clearly low on confidence and Villa with home advantage in their favour are expected to come out on top in this contest.
