  • Gremio are coming off a big 3-0 home win over Sao Paulo the last time out and even though they’ve been quite inconsistent of late, they are coming off three wins in their last five games. With 60 points and in fourth place, they have secured a berth in the 2020 Copa Libertadores. It remains to be seen if they’ll reach a spot in the group stage or the playoffs, though.
  • Star winger Luan has already been ruled out for the season. Jean, Thaciano, Leonardo and Marcelo Oliveira are also out due to physical problems. Matheus Henrique and Diego Tardelli, however, are both slated to return after missing last weekend’s match.

Expected starting XI: Paulo Victor; Leo Moura, Pedro Geromel, Walter Kannemann, Bruno Cortez; Michel, Maicon; Alisson, Pepe, Everton; Luciano

  • Despite being one of the biggest teams in Brazil, Cruzeiro are in danger of being relegated for the first time in their history. One of the biggest reasons to back that up is their current seven-game winless streak, as well as their on-going three-game losing run. They are coming off a 1-0 away loss to Vasco and sit in 17th place of the standings with 36 points.
  • Rodriguinho, Dede and Marquinhos Gabriel have all been listed as injured ahead of this match, and they’re slated to miss this contest. Dodo is also expected to be out.

Expected starting XI: Fabio; Luis Orejuela, Caca, Leo, Edigio; Ederson Lourenco, Ariel Cabral, Henrique; David, Joel, Pedro Rocha

Gremio have been quite inconsistent in their last few weeks, but they have won four of their last five matches and have lost just four times at home this season. Cruzeiro have their backs against the wall and must win here to have a shot at avoiding relegation, but they are on a seven-game winless run and it seems they can’t get a win to save their lives at the moment. This is going to be a tight game since both teams have something to play for, but Cruzeiro have been struggling of late so Gremio should be considered as favourites.
