  • Inter produced a stunning comeback in the Milan derby as they overturned a two-goal deficit to come out on top against AC Milan which will give them plenty of confidence heading into this Coppa Italia contest with Napoli.
  • Trailing by two goals at half-time, Inter tied the scores with two goals in as many minutes from Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino before Stefan de Vrij and Romelu Lukaku completed the turnaround to send Inter back to the top of the Serie A table.
  • Having defeated Fiorentina in the quarter-finals, Inter will be keen to build a lead in this first leg with Napoli and are expected to name a full-strength side which will be boosted by the return of Lautaro Martinez from suspension but Samir Handanovic is set to miss out through injury.

  • After three impressive performances in which they earned successive wins in all competitions, Napoli’s winning streak was ended as they fell to defeat against Lecce in Serie A at the weekend.
  • Arkadiusz Milik cancelled out Lecce’s opener to put his side on level terms just after the break but the away side scored two further goals before a late Jose Callejon goal gave Napoli hope of salvaging a draw but it was not to be.
  • Despite the loss against Lecce, Napoli did not pick up any further injuries and boast a fairly strong squad heading into this encounter with long-term absentees Kevin Malcuit and Faouzi Ghoulam the only players that should be sidelined.

Inter will be on a high after a brilliant comeback in the Milan derby and that does not bode well for Napoli ahead of this Coppa Italia semi-final first leg. Inter’s squad is stacked with talent and they highlighted their resolve and character to fight back from two goals down at the weekend. They host Napoli as they look to take an advantage into the second leg and with the visitors producing a poor display at home to Lecce at the weekend, the hosts are likely to earn a lead from this first leg.
