Big things were expected this season of two notoriously high-scoring midfielders in previous FPL seasons. Both Sadio Mane (£12.4m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.7m) have been amongst the FPL points but which of the two has had the better season?
Mane has had another wonderful campaign for Liverpool, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists from 26 appearances. A whopping 22 bonus points along with seven 10+ point hauls have given him a total of 175 FPL points over the past 29 gameweeks.
Sterling started the season well and has 11 Premier League goals to his name along with two assists. He has accrued 118 FPL points over the course of the season so far, but he has failed to register an attacking return since Gameweek 19.
Originally priced at £11.5m, Mane was priced at £0.5m cheaper than Sterling, who was valued at £12.0m. The Senegalese midfielder has accumulated a massive 57 points more than Sterling, therefore it is clear that he has proven a better FPL asset than Sterling over the past 29 gameweeks.
Verdict: Sadio Mane
