FPL Gameweek 8 – head-to-head comparisons: Mason Mount vs John McGinn

Chelsea’s good run of fixtures in the coming weeks makes their assets appealing and Mason Mount (£6.7m) continues to be a great option at a reasonable price. After recently making his England debut, Mount has continued his good start to the season and comes off an assist in the 2-0 win over Brighton. With fixtures against Southampton, Newcastle, Burnley, Watford and Crystal Palace, Mount is well worth consideration in Gameweek 8 and for the medium term, too.

While Mount has been getting plenty of praise so far this season, Aston Villa’s John McGinn (£5.8m) has quietly gone about his business and impressed many FPL owners. After seven gameweeks, McGinn has racked up 38 points – one less than Mount – thanks to his three goals and one assist, and at almost a million less than the Chelsea midfielder, he offers a great value option for this gameweek against a leaky Norwich defence.
