Southampton's Che Adams (£5.9m) had a Gameweek 2 to forget as his side were beaten 2-5 at home to Spurs, whilst he failed to get amongst the scorers. Chris Wood (£6.5m) was also on the losing side, although he at least found the net in Burnley's 4-2 defeat at Leicester and picked up 6 FPL points for his troubles.
Southampton make the long journey to Turf Moor in Gameweek 3 to face Burnley. Priced at £0.6m cheaper than Wood, Adams looks attractive on paper. However, Wood is in good form and also on penalties. The extra money spent to get him in ahead of Adams is worthwhile in our view.
Verdict: Chris Wood
