Another goal at the weekend saw Anthony Martial (£8.0m) score for the third game in succession - the first time since September 2017 that he has netted in three consecutive appearances. The Frenchman has always been capable of delivering goals in bursts but has often frustrated FPL managers by his lack of consistency throughout a season. The arrival of Bruno Fernandes (£8.2m) seems to have changed that though, as since the Portuguese midfielder made his Man Utd debut, Martial has scored in three out of four games he has played (in all competitions).

Following an injury in GW24, Sadio Mane (£12.3m) has seen his ownership fall by around 1.4 million. Now only owned by 23.4% of all FPL managers, the Senegalese international has become something of a differential, particularly when compared to his Egyptian teammate. Two goals since his return from injury would seem to indicate those managers were a little hasty in ridding Mane from their FPL squads. The rewards have been there for those who held the faith and look set to continue in an away fixture against Watford in GW28. In six previous appearances for Liverpool against the Hornets, Mane has never failed to either score or assist.

Verdict: Sadio Mane
