The hot streak of Southampton striker Danny Ings (£6.3m) continued in Gameweek 16 as the Saints star netted for a fifth consecutive match away at Newcastle. Though ultimately it was in vain, as the Magpies came back to win 2-1, the goal was Ings' ninth of the season and he looks to be in the form of his career playing as part of a front two for Southampton.
Raul Jimenez (£7.5m) also continued his recent good form with an assist for Diogo Jota in Wolves' 2-2 draw away at Brighton. It was the Mexican's 5th attacking return in his last six league games that has seen him accrue 37 FPL points from those matches.
Ings will be confident of another goal in Gameweek 17, when Southampton return home to face West Ham, who have conceded 14 goals in their last six games. Jimenez's Wolves meet a Spurs side coming off the back of their first clean sheet under Jose Mourinho against Burnley. The fixture alone favours Ings, and with a £1.2m cheaper price tag he represents by far the better value of the two strikers.
Verdict: Danny Ings
