FPL Gameweek 15 – head-to-head comparisons: Sadio Mane vs Christian Pulisic
A rare blank for Sadio Mane (£12.2m) in Gameweek 14 does not change the fact that it's been a great season so far for the Senegalese international. He is still the highest scoring FPL midfielder with 94 points and before Gameweek 14 had scored in his last three gameweeks.
Another player to blank was American midfielder Christian Pulisic (£7.5m), who disappointed his owners after Chelsea's shock defeat at home to West Ham. After scoring 5 goals from Gameweek 10 to Gameweek 12, Pulisic has failed to find the net since and faces stiff competition for his place with both Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi benched in favour of the American against the Hammers.
Gameweek 15 once again sees both players at home, with Mane facing a fiery Merseyside derby against a struggling Everton and Pulisic's Chelsea hosting an Aston Villa side fresh from a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. It's always a risk choosing a player involved in a derby, even someone with the class of Mane. The opposition will naturally raise their game and there is also the risk of losing discipline which could lead to yellow cards. Chelsea will be determined to bounce back against an Aston Villa side who have had little time to recover from a gruelling match at Old Trafford, and this should benefit Pulisic.
Verdict: Christian Pulisic
