FPL Gameweek 12 – head-to-head comparisons: Andrew Robertson vs Trent Alexander-Arnold
Despite not keeping a clean sheet, the two Liverpool full-backs Andrew Robertson (£6.9m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.2m) each provided healthy FPL returns for their owners in Liverpool’s last-gasp victory over Aston Villa in Gameweek 11. A goal for Robertson and an assist for Alexander-Arnold saw the two defenders earn 8 and 7 FPL points respectively. Gameweek 12 sees Liverpool face a crunch top-of-the-table clash with Man City at Anfield. Both full-backs are set to play and each will provide potential for attacking returns in the game. TAA has the luxury of taking set pieces but while this could give him the edge on paper, it’s Robertson who is the man in form. The Scot has returned 27 points in his last five gameweeks compared to Alexander-Arnold’s 19 points. Add that to his cheaper price tag and he appears to be the shrewder option of the two right now.
Verdict: Andrew Robertson
