FPL Gameweek 10 – head-to-head comparisons: Marcos Alonso vs Lucas Digne
This comparison sees us look at two naturally attacking left backs. Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso (£6.2m) opened his account for the season in Gameweek 9, scoring the winner against Newcastle. In comparison, Everton’s Lucas Digne (£6.0m) has failed to open his account so far this campaign despite taking free kicks. He did however register his third clean sheet of the season in Gameweek 9 against West Ham to bring home 6 FPL points for his owners. Both players face tricky away trips in Gameweek 10, as Alonso travels to Burnley with Chelsea whilst Digne makes the long journey down to the south coast with Everton to face Brighton. It’s risky to include either player in your FPL team with a good chance both will offer little FPL return this weekend, but if you have to choose one then Digne is the more sensible option. He is 0.2m cheaper and his place in the side is guaranteed, Alonso on the other hand may lose his starting birth once Emerson returns from injury.
Verdict: Lucas Digne
