FPL Gameweek 10 – head-to-head comparisons: Jamie Vardy vs Tammy Abraham
Two of the more popular FPL forwards, both Jamie Vardy (£9.1m) and Tammy Abraham (£7.8m) have already seen their prices rise this week. Indeed, there is an excellent case to be made for including both in your FPL team given their current records and the excellent run of fixtures coming up for Leicester and Chelsea.
Given the difficulty in choosing between the two, it is perhaps best to consult the form stats. Vardy has three goals and 22 points over the last three gameweeks, while Abraham has just the one goal in the same time period. While on paper the match against Southampton looks an appetising proposition, Vardy actually has a very poor league record against the Saints having not scored against them since 2015-16.
The single goal scored by Abraham also slightly understates the amount of chances that are coming his way, with no fewer than four excellent opportunities afforded to the Chelsea striker last weekend against Newcastle. It is also hard to ignore the fact that Abraham still only costs £7.8m, some £1.3m less than Vardy despite their similar record.
Verdict: Tammy Abraham
