Two star forwards for two London-based clubs hoping for a trophy-laden Premier League season are in the spotlight here. Both Harry Kane (£10.5m) of Spurs and Timo Werner (£9.5m) of Chelsea will also be looking for a high-scoring league season and, as such, FPL managers will have to assess which of the two look the better option ahead of Gameweek 1.
Kane only managed 158 FPL points last season, courtesy of 18 points and two assists - his lowest total since the 2013-14 season. Werner is an unknown entity for FPL managers as he makes his debut in the Premier League following his signing from RB Leipzig. The German international scored 28 goals and made eight assists in the Bundesliga last season. Spurs face a home clash against Everton, whilst Chelsea travel to Brighton. Both options look enticing, but Werner is in-form after scoring for Germany during the international break and at £1.0m cheaper, looks the value pick in this head-to-head.
Verdict: Timo Werner
