Brighton’s two main men at centre-half, Shane Duffy
(£5.0m) and Lewis Dunk (£4.5m) will be under consideration for many FPL managers' fourth or fifth substitute option. With both keeping seven clean sheets over the course of last season, Duffy’s main advantage over Dunk in 2018-19 was his goal scoring exploits. Duffy's five goals scored are the reason for a new price of £5.0m and it is this price that represents the primary stumbling block when selecting him over Dunk. At £5.0m he is no longer a cheap option as a fourth or fifth defender, and FPL players relying on him to reproduce his scoring exploits from last season to justify the price tag will be taking a risk.
Verdict: Lewis Dunk
