Both Jordan Pickford and Hugo Lloris have been priced at £5.5m for the 2019-20 season. With a better points per app and fewer goals conceded in 2018-19 Spurs’ stopper Lloris would seem the logical pick for FPL managers. However, something seemed to click defensively for Marco Silva’s men in the final stretch of the season. Eight of Pickford’s 14 clean sheets came in the final 11 games. The side will undoubtedly be looking to carry that form through to the start of the 2019-20 season, particularly given Everton don’t play any of the ‘big six’ in their opening six games. Plus the Englishman is always good for a penalty save or two.
Verdict: Jordan Pickford
