  • Last year saw Derbyshire Falcons reach the semi-finals of the Vitality Blast, where they lost to eventual champions Essex Eagles.
  • Despite Derbyshire being the home side, the match will be played at the home of their opponents due to the England Women's side currently using the Falcons ground as a bio secure venue for their upcoming matches vs the West Indies.
  • Whilst the top four will likely remain the same batsman who featuring in the Bob Willis Trophy, coach Dominic Cork may rotate his all-rounders with the likes of Alex Hughes expected to come into the side.

  • Leicester Foxes finished joint-bottom of the North Group in 2019 and will be hoping to vastly improve on that showing this year.
  • Both Arron Lilley and Dieter Klein return to the squad for this match, whilst wicketkeeper batsman Lewis Hill has been passed fit and is available for selection.
  • The Foxes moved quickly to sign Irish international all-rounder Gareth Delany as an overseas player for the competition and he is expected to make his debut here.

Both consistently written off in modern day county cricket, but Derbyshire have proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with recently. They backed up their finals-day appearance in last year’s Vitality Blast, with a strong start to this season’s Bob Willis Trophy. However, being top of the North Group with one game to play could see them take their eye off the ball in this year’s Vitality Blast. Leicestershire look like they could be dark horses in the T20 form of the game this season and the signing of Delany represents a shrewd bit of business for Paul Nixon’s side. Providing rain doesn’t interfere, the Foxes look set to start their white ball campaign with victory here.
