  • Royal Challengers Bangalore remain at the top end of the IPL ladder having won all three of their matches as the only team yet to taste defeat in the tournament after successive wins over Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.
  • All three of their matches played so far have taken place in Chennai and while they have yet to play a game in Mumbai, the conditions will perfectly suit their powerful batting line-up which will relish playing at the Wankhede.
  • With the core of their side settled, there is a chance that they bring big-hitting New Zealand star Finn Allen in for his IPL debut at the top of the order to take advantage of the small pitch in Mumbai and bolster their batting even further.

  • It has not been a straight-forward start to this IPL campaign for the Rajasthan Royals who have lost two of their opening three games and come off a disappointing 45-run defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings.
  • They came into the campaign without Jofra Archer before losing Ben Stokes for the entire tournament, and the latest blow in the build-up to this game is the departure of English batsman Liam Livingstone who has returned home due to ‘bubble fatigue’.
  • Shreyas Gopal is a candidate to come into the side but otherwise they are looking somewhat light on options to change things around right now so they desperately need their key men such as Sanju Sansom, Jos Buttler David Miller and Chris Morris to produce some heroic efforts.

Contrasting starts to the IPL for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals and there is every chance that their trends could continue here. RCB are in superb form and so many of their players are in great for right now. The Royals have the star power in their side to win any game but they are lacking in terms of the supporting cast. On the small pitch in Mumbai which should favour batsmen heavily, RCB should simply have too much firepower and are favoured to outscore the struggling Royals.
