THE TEAM NEWS

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE

  • Royal Challengers Bangalore made it three straight wins at the weekend after getting the better of Punjab Kings, posting 164/7 and successfully defending the target to win by six runs.
  • RCB promoted Dan Christian to number three against the Kings in a bid to speed up their strike rate when batting first, but the Australian was dismissed for a first ball 0 and will likely be moved back down the order here with Srikar Bharat moved back to number three.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

  • Sunrisers Hyderabad’s defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders last time out means that they remain on four points after 12 games with Kane Williamson’s side now guaranteed to finish bottom of the table.
  • With the upcoming T20 World Cup in sight and SRH with no chance of playoff qualification it would be no surprise if fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was rested with both Sandeep Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed options to play.

THE PREDICTION

The shortest form of cricket can always lead to shocks at any given time and Royal Challengers Bangalore will need to show no signs of complacency if they are to overcome Sunrisers Hyderabad here, no matter how poor they have performed over the course of the tournament thus far. However, with the superior batting and bowling unit alongside the better clutch of domestic players, this should prove a fairly comprehensive victory for Royal Challengers Bangalore with a top order boasting the likes of Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal and the in-form Glenn Maxwell expected to wind up too strong for a fragile SRH bowling attack to handle.
