THE PREDICTION

Guyana Amazon Warriors’ batting wilted miserably this past Thursday as they were bowled out for just 98 chasing 150 to beat St Lucia Kings. The defeat sees them remain on four points, two clear of Barbados Royals at the bottom of the table, who managed to steal defeat from the jaws of victory against Caribbean Premier League leaders St Kitts and Nevis Patriots last time out. Defending three runs from the final delivery, Ashley Nurse bowled a delivery in the slot which was smashed for six, breaking Barbados hearts.

For the Royals, it is vital that they take the positives out of that match despite defeat. They more than matched the best team in the competition and ultimately should have won the game. If they can repeat that level of performance here against a Guyana side who have not shown their best form with the bat recently, then they are more than capable of recording a second win of the tournament. With that in mind, backing Barbados Royals may well prove the smart play in this one.
