THE PREDICTION

South Australia are one of just two sides to have already undertaken a Marsh One-Day Cup fixture, having been beaten comprehensively by Western Australia back in September. This loss came in spite of a brilliant 128 from wicketkeeper batter Alex Carey at the top of the order. They now take on Queensland, who are on the back of a high scoring draw with Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield. That match took place on a flat pitch at the Karen Rolton Oval and with the same venue hosting this 50 over contest, another high scoring encounter looks on the cards. This should benefit Queensland, who boast the likes of Marnus Labuschagne and captain Usman Khawaja within their ranks, both hugely reliable run-scorers with experience at the highest level. The middle order of South Australia pales in comparison to their opponents here with Matt Renshaw certainly able to provide fireworks with the bat if needed and whilst Carey represents a huge danger for Queensland, ultimately the stronger depth and higher class of individual within their batting unit should lead them to victory against a South Australia bowling unit weakened due to the absence of Kane Richardson. However, be sure to keep a close eye on the weather forecast throughout the day with a chance of rain disrupting play.
