Coach: Jason Kerr

Captain: Lewis Gregory

  • Somerset have won four of their last five t20 Blast matches as they have finally hit form with their last win coming against Middlesex in which they dominated the club from the capital by 38 runs on the D/L method.

  • Skipper Lewis Gregory produced a stunning performance as his 62 runs from 26 balls helped his side smash 229/6 from their 20 overs and then he followed that up with 4/28 with the ball in a matchwinning effort.

  • Craig Overton could be brought into the side while they have added Tom Banton to the squad, although it is very possible that the coaching staff name the same eleven players that comprehensively beat Middlesex last time out.

Coach: Craig White

Captain: James Vince

  • Despite winning the Royal London One Day Cup just a couple of months ago, Hampshire have not managed to transfer that form into he T20 format, having won just one of their seven matches so far though they can still recover if they respond quickly.

  • The reliance in Colin Munro with the bat has been significant but they desperately need the likes of Vince (61 in 6 innings) and Rossouw (75 in 6) to step up and provide more depth to the batting line-up.

  • Jack Lintott has been brought into the 15-man squad, and they may consider changes in their bowling attack which has also not really fired so far in this competition with Taylor, Berg and Abbott all disappointing.

Hampshire are just in miserable form in this t20 Blast competition and unless they can find some form from somewhere, they will quickly drop out of contention to reach the play-offs. Somerset on the other hand are ticking along nicely and are one of the more underrated teams in the competition. Their batting is solid and strong as they have regular posted decent totals, while their bowling attack is nice and balanced overall. Everything points in their favour to extend their recent good form and prolong Hampshire’s poor record.
