All-time meetings: Kent Spitfires W0, Lancashire Lightning W1

Coach: Matt Walker

Captain: Sam Billings

  • The Spitfires reached the quarter-finals by winning their final three group stage matches so they come into this clash with Lancashire Lightning with good momentum especially following a superb win in the County Championship also.

  • Kuhn and Dickson got runs in the county match and that will boost them as they were arguably the ones in the t20 Blast that were not firing on all cylinders of late so their return to form will only boost the strong line-up even further.

  • Joe Denly will once again be key to their hopes both with bat and ball, so they will look to their key all-rounder to make a significant contribution in both facets as they look to reach finals day.

Coach: Glen Chapple

Captain: Dane Vilas

  • The Lightning come into the quarter-finals having lost their final group stage match in disappointing fashion to Birmingham but there was nothing riding on that so it will not affect them coming into this clash.

  • It has been announced that England duo Jos Buttler and Keaton Jennings have both been given permission to play for the Lightning here so the duo will bolster the batting line-up significantly.

  • Spinner Matt Parkinson and overseas star James Faulkner have been key figures in the bowling unit so far and they will both have to be in good form against this strong Kent batting line-up.

Incredibly tough match to call as Kent would have been favoured but the news that Lancs will have Jos Buttler back in the side fresh off his century with England evens things up somewhat. Buttler has the ability to take the game away from any side in T20 matches and Lancs’ hopes of success rest heavily on his shoulders and the bowling attack. Kent look to have the edge overall and certainly the form coming into this game, but it really could tip either way depending on which side’s key players hit form on the day.
