All-time meetings:
Karachi Kings W1, Quetta Gladiators W5
Last meeting: Quetta Gladiators beat Karachi Kings by 67 runs

Coach: Mickey Arthur

Captain: Imad Wasim

  • After winning their opening match, the Kings have gone on to lose their last three and they were comprehensively beaten by Islamabad United on Saturday so they are going to have to raise their game and improve notably as they face the only team with a 100% winning record in the PSL in the Quetta Gladiators.

  • Despite being able to call upon Colin Munro to add to Babar Azam, Ingram, Livingstone and Dunk, they could still only manage to score 143/6 which was never going to be enough as United knocked it off in 16.1 overs so the pressure is on their big name batsmen to start scoring much more.

  • They may feel pressure to bring in another all-rounder like Bopara but ultimately they need both their batsmen and bowlers to raise their game and they may consider one or two more reshuffles with Usman Shinwari under pressure to tighten up with his bowling

Coach: Moin Khan

Captain: Sarfraz Ahmed

  • The Gladiators needed a last-ball six from skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to beat Lahore Qalandars on Saturday to remain the only team with a 100% winning record in the tournament so far and they will be confident of making it five wins from five here.

  • 19-year-old Ghulam Mudasser was in impressive form on Saturday taking three wickets and his performance was key as others did not quite play to the same high standards as they have, which was the same with the bat as others are stepping up and playing key roles when the likes of Shane Watson occasionally do not manage to produce the goods.

  • With bac-to-back matches, the Gladiators may decide to rotate a little to keep the team fresh and this could be the first match for Dwayne Bravo in place of compatriot Dwayne Smith following his Big Bash stint with Melbourne Stars.

Desperate times for the Kings as they are in dire need of a win to get their PSL campaign back on track after three consecutive losses. The Gladiators are flying with confidence after winning all four games so far and when some of their key men have failed, others have stepped up. They are not playing that well, but they are getting the results unlike their opponents here. The Kings are struggling badly and they need either their batting or bowling unit to really step up. Neither is playing well enough and their batting especially really should step up given the names in their ranks. They may fire here if the Gladiators are a little sluggish after playing on Saturday, but they will need a big score.
