All-time meetings:
Karachi Kings W2, Peshawar Zalmi W6
Last meeting: Peshawar Zalmi beat Karachi Kings by 13 runs

Coach: Mickey Arthur

Captain: Imad Wasim

  • Karachi Kings will be looking for an improved performance after failing to make it back-to-back wins as they slipped to defeat against Lahore Qalandars in their last outing with the Kings, losing by 22 runs following a disappointing run-chase.

  • Having restricted the Qalandars to 138/6, the Kings would have fancied themselves to chase down that score and despite reaching 60/1 and 90/2, a middle-order collapse and a poor effort by the tail saw eight wickets fall for just 26 runs.

  • Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir could be in hot water following that defeat as the game turned nasty at its completion and a formal complaint has been logged by the Qalandars regarding the behaviour of the Karachi captain and fast bowler.

Coach: Mohammad Akram

Captain: Darren Sammy

  • Peshawar Zalmi were superb as they ripped through Lahore Qalandars to claim their first win in this year’s competition and now turn their attention to trying to build some momentum, starting with facing Karachi Kings.

  • Zalmi managed to skittle the Qalandars for just 78, the second lowest total in PSL history with Hasan Ali the star as he took 4-15 and he was ably backed up by Wahab Riaz who finished off the tail with figures of 3-17.

  • Umar Amin produced a brilliant innings with the bat to guide his side to a comfortable seven-wicket win as he steadied the ship after the openers fell for a combined score of one and that should ensure he retains his place in the side.

Karachi Kings could still be reeling from the spat that marred their game with Lahore Qalandars with two of their key players potentially facing disciplinary action as a result. They now face a Peshawar Zalmi side that are full of confidence after a superb bowling display against the Qalandars. They ripped through the top order to set the wheels in motion for a big win and can carry that form into this contest although they will still be looking for more from their batsmen.
