STATS & FACTS
Last five head-to-head meetings - Watford W3, D2.
Watford have not lost any of their last five matches against Brighton. The Seagulls last beat Watford in September 2012 when Craig Mackail-Smith scored the game’s only goal.
In the 12 Championship matches that these two clubs played between 2004 and 2015, Watford were on the losing side just once.
This is the first Premier League match between the two clubs, although they have met in the top flight twice before when they competed in the 1982/83 First Division. That season, Brighton went on to lose the FA Cup final, while Watford suffered the same fate a year later.
Watford boss Marco Silva has yet to be defeated since taking charge of the club this summer.
Brighton are not only looking for their first points of the season but also their first goals.
Watford are the joint-second highest goalscorers of the season so far with five goals to their name – a mantle they share with Leicester City.
There have been 110 meetings between the two clubs; Watford have won 35 while Brighton have won 43 and there have been 32 draws.
MOST MEMORABLE MEETING
The last time these two teams met in the FA Cup was back in January 2011 - a fourth round clash which would see Brighton progress thanks to Ashley Barnes’ 20-yard strike.
